How to Become a Child Life Specialist
Interested in a career as a Child Life Specialist? Here are the steps to get started:
- Education: Obtain a bachelor’s degree in any field and complete the relevant coursework.
- Clinical Internship: Gain hands-on experience by working under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS).
- Assessment: Complete the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) eligibility assessment so we can verify you are ready for the exam.
- Certification Exam: Take and pass the Child Life Certification Exam to earn your CCLS credential.
